Vallisneria americana 'Gigantea'

Vallisneria americana 'Gigantea' from Asia is an unproblematic and fast-growing plant for large aquariums. In most aquariums, the leaves grow so long, often 50-150 cm, that they float on the surface. Therefore, the plant must be trimmed so that it does not cast too much shade. The tough, strong leaves are usually not eaten by herbivorous fish. It is easily propagated by runners, which develop in large numbers in a nutrient-rich substrate.
