Feeding recommendation
Feeding Discus Fish
Discus fish require varied and regular feeding to stay healthy, grow strong, and fully develop their colors.
Always feed only as much as the fish can completely eat within two to three minutes – leftover food deteriorates water quality. Frequent, consistent feeding is especially important as young discus grow quickly and require a lot of energy.
Recommended food:
- Easy Discus MaxPower (in-house food mix)
- frozen Artemia
- white and red mosquito larvae
- mysis
- mussel meat
Discus fish between 5-10cm
- 6–8 feedings per day
-
Equal parts granules and frozen food
- e.g., three to four times daily granules
- and three to four times daily frozen food
Discus fish 10 cm and larger:
-
3 feedings per day
- 2 × daily granules
- 1 × daily frozen food
Tip:
An automatic feeder is highly recommended to ensure regular feeding – especially practical if you are not home during the day.
