Anubias barteri var. barteri

Anubias barteri var. barteri is an undemanding plant from West Africa. It grows larger than Anubias barteri var. nana, but is cultivated under the same conditions. Anubias barteri is very variable in size and leaf shape; plants can grow 25-45 cm tall and the rhizome can quickly reach 10 cm or more in length. Like other Anubias species, it is best planted in a shaded spot to limit algae growth on the leaves. Suitable for terrariums and aquaterrariums. Herbivorous fish do not eat the very tough and robust leaves.
